Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立海洋大學 === 漁業科學系碩士在職專班 === 91 === In this study we aimed to establish a technique of artificial propagation of seahorse (Hippocampus kuda). When they were born and their average body length were 0.75±0.02㎝, By the time we fed the seahorses according to their size with zooplankton as copepod filtered by various mesh size. After 14 days cultured, their average body length reached to 2.50±0.16㎝and growth of body length was 0.13㎝ / day. After 28 days cultured, their average body length reached to 4.73±0.23㎝, growth of body length increased to 0.16㎝ / day and the survival rate was 98.83% respectively. From the 29th till the end of experiment (the 91st day), We mixed them up and cultured seahorses under various stocking density (100, 200, 300 ind./200 liter) and different food (with or without frozen Artemia during day 35~41). Results were obtained, both body length and body weight were significant negative correlation between with stocking density. The lower stocking density cultured and the higher both average body length and body weight gained. In the same meaning, the higher stocking density cultured and the lower both average body length and body weight gained. Effects of feeding with frozen Artemia on body length, body weight and survival rate were grouped by Duncan’s multi-range comparison with the means of theirs. Of all those relationship are statistically significant (P<0.05) after one week cultured. Evidently, We recognized that the frozen Artemia was not suitable food for Hippocampus kuda. It began to treat them with Mysis sp. from 52nd till 91st day. Consequently, results were obtained as follow: average body length range were 9.66~12.50㎝, average body weight range were 3.04~6.12g, growth of body length were 0.08~0.12㎝/ day, growth of body weight were 0.05~0.10g/day and survival rate was 89.39% respectively. The relationship between body length and body weight are significantly correlation as regress equation was B.L.=2.618Ln(B.W.)+6.6202,R2=0.9764. It will also appear brood pouch which we can use to identify with sex after average body length reached 5~6㎝. It would be mature after 90 days cultured (body length reached to 12~13㎝). We should culture separately from sex alone in order to avoid inbreeding. In the future, it could be possible to mass product by meaning of finding a good feeding schedules and an excellent culture system.
