Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 環境教育研究所 === 91 === The purpose of this research aims to explore the status quo and needs of Taiwan Forestry Bureau [TFB] on environmental education. The mail survey and in-depth interview are employed to meet the goal of research. Among 200 distributed questionnaires, 129 research participants respond and 122 prove valid. As for the interview, the researcher selects two key and experienced directors of TFB by using a snowball technique to conduct interviews. The important results of this research are: 1.TFB has conducted many programs about environmental education now and before, but these ongoing policies or plans, lack clear goals, strategies, priority, contents, methods and evaluation programs. 2.In TFB, there are three subsystems to promote environmental education; a staff of 40-80 and 499 volunteers are able to support environmental education. 3.The EE programs are planned and conducted by TFB, the staff of forest districts and a large number of volunteers. Its major content is about wildlife, forest ecology, biodiversity, forestry management and conservation. “One day-visit” and “press publications and advertisements” are the most two frequently used means to fulfill this mission. The target audience of these programs, mainly, are forest visitors, school groups and families. 4.To a great extent, the EE programs are implemented at forest recreation areas, exhibit areas and neighboring schools. 5.For TFB, the most important barriers of promoting the environmental education are “without environmental education professional staff,” “without enough staff” and “without systematic plans, teaching materials, clear policies and partnerships.” 6.For TFB, the needs to develop environmental education are “environmental education professional staff,”“ environmental education databases and teaching materials,” “a clear policy and plan” and to “initiate a successful environmental learning center.” For the staff, the most necessary professional development training curricula are “environmental education teaching methods and activities design,"“ leadership and human resources planning” and “plan and implement environmental interpretative activities.” Based on the results of this research, the researcher provides some recommendations for Taiwan Forestry Bureau to develop environmental education and its further research.
