Summary: | 碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 工業工程與工程管理學系 === 91 === Many evidences from literature review indicate that human factor principles should be taken into account in a new aeronautical assistant system design. In this system, the data shown on the computer monitor should be significantly meaningful so that aeronautical administrators or aviators can take correct procedures. Therefore, this study aims to improve the human machine interface of Integrated Hazard Avoidance System for General Aviation (GA-IHAS). According to formal interface design principles, the concept of user centered design as well as human factor principles is applied to meet the need of users and to improve system safety.
The purpose of the present research is to discuss the defects of Integrated Hazard Avoidance System for General Aviation. In addition, this research adopts the principle of human factor design in order to achieve the goals of enhancing personal performance and increase the function of this system. After evaluating a currently developed system, GA-IHAS, some interface deficiencies have been detected. The color use and warning signal position are found to be critical design deficiencies of this system. Thus, two stages of experiments were designed to find out the optimal color arrangement and warning signal position. The results indicate that the improved interface can augment the speed and accuracy of subjects after rearrangement of color use as comparing with the currently developed system. As for the warning signal position, the improvement indeed shortens the reaction time of subjects and the subjects can easily perceive the signals. Finally, some design suggestions and future research directions are proposed.
