Through the process of practicing these materials, I can investigate the difficulties we meet when we use them, and I also can try to know the learning effect of students and the growth of teachers’ profession. The center of this research is the co-active research pattern. And I also collated internal relative theories and documents. The objects of this research are eight blind students. They are from a self-sufficient blind class of a Taichung County Special School. And they are all first grade. I cooperate with other teachers in teaching. We spent two semesters to carry on a four-stage experimental teaching. The results of this research are as following: 1. The features, advantages and disadvantages of the Chinese Braille materials: dynamic and participating process of development, the materials lacking the instruction, the contents of the materials are practical and systematic, these materials are compiled mainly for teachers, the whole set of the materials should be more complete, the teaching aids and method need more instruction. 2. The effects and review of the Chinese Braille teaching: most students gradually learn basic Braille, the cooperative teaching pattern is necessary, the U-seat arrangement can considerate dynamic line groups, it is difficult for blind and mult-handicapped students to learn, the students can learn happily and the teachers can enjoy teaching. 3. The factors which can influence the effects of students’ learning: the experience and ability before learning, the exploring and acting extent, the penetrative degree of tactile sense, the supporting system of family, the motivation and interest of learning, the intelligence factor, and so on. 4. The professional progress of the co-research teachers: the professional knowledge, the practical experience, the cooperation, the Braille materials, the teaching aids, the teaching method, reinforce strategy, arrange the situation, the rules in the classroom, and motivate learning interest. According to this research, I found if we want to enhance our basic Chinese Braille teaching, we have to take efforts in the following things. 1. Develop Braille course: collect existing materials and rearrange them, compile the designment of Braille teaching activities, extend the teaching materials for different needs, invent a series of assistant teaching aids and popularize them, develop Braille materials for children and parents. 2. Extend the experience before elementary school: early healing should be given earlier, help to establish the supporting system of family, the blind children should take the kindergarten education, provide related professional service, increase the opportunity of the interaction of people. 3. Reinforce the quality of teachers: establish the resource foundation of Braille teaching, establish, carry out student counseling just after they entering the elementary school, found the counseling group for the blind-student education, provide further profession education which include practical knowledge. 4. Reinforce school administration: establish good supporting system for administration, found resource center of Braille teaching, enhance the communication of the first line teachers, encourage teachers cooperate and research, urge teachers to invent new materials and methods. 5. The future research: the objects of the research can include concoction school or blind students who are not born blind, the range of this research can include the Braille teaching of mathematics, English, physics and chemistry, the method of the research can consider only one object, experimental research or other quantitative method.
