Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 材料科學研究所 === 91 === Abstract Two kinds of unsaturated polyesters’ prepolymers were synthesized via two steps. For the hard segment, isophthalic acid was reacted with 1,2-propanediol first, then maleic anhydride was added to yield a copolyester with Tg around 13aC. For the soft segment, diethylene glycol was used to replace 1,2-propanediol and yielded a copolyester with Tg at -27aC. These two prepolymers were blended in different ratios and cured with styrene monomer. From the microtensile tests and the thermogravimetric experiments, it was found that the blend with 60% hard segment and 40% soft segment (code# CP6) gave the best results. The current formula of polyester inhibitor was modified with CP6, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, and calcium silicate, respectively. The results of microtensile tests and the thermogravimetric experiments indicated that the formula with CP6 and 30 (or 40) phr magnesium hydroxide passed the criteria of inhibitors. In addition, this modified formula reduced both of the percent of nitroglycerine absorption and the erosion rate by 30% when comparing with the current formula. In this study, the evaluation methods for inhibitors were established. The success in resins synthesis and inhibitor’s formula can accelerate the development of new polyesters as propellant inhibitors in the near future.
