To do this, the Banking industry should seek aggressively to develop expertise bankers, with ethical values and social responsibilities, This will help to improve the competence of employees who are engaged in managing problem loans, and related performance management. The purposes of this study are as follows (1) Investigate the relationship between employee’s work values and performance in managing problem loans. (2) To test the relationship between job attributes and loans-managing performance;and (3) To test the level or job attributes, where there is an existing disturbance between employee’s work values and loans-managing performance . The sample of this study has 202 employees involved in managing problem loans at the Land Bank of Taiwan. ANOVA and regression analysis are the methods used to test the hypothesis of this research. The following conclusions are summarized: 1.Work values has a positive impact on the management of non-performing loans. Thus, the top management of the Land Bank of Taiwan should actively emphasize their employee’s ethical values and seek to promote these values through training. 2.Job attributes showed significant correlation with loans-managing performance, And variety of skill and task autonomy showed most significant. Thus, the Land Bank should establish job autonomy and variety of skill as the most important job characteristics. They should show regards and feedback to employees . With this, we are confident that the bank will be able to raise employee performance on managing problem loans. 3.If Job attributes is included as a moderating variable, the relationship between work values and loan-managing performance will chang.
