Three products have been tested and they are peanuts with shell, garlic, and longan. The main goal of this study is to improve the energy efficiency of traditional dryer and its primary testing results could be referred for further study. This energy saving type bin dryer is suitable for direct heating or indirect heating operation. The testing results shown that with air preheating system fuel efficiency could reach 3.64% higher than the dryer without installed air preheating system. They also indicated that using heat isolating cover and moisture absorbing top could save 40% to 43% in fuel consumption. The ventilation fan with six different speed options could meet various needs for drying different products. In intermittent heating process experiments, results demonstrated that energy could save 8% to 12% and the total heat efficiency of this prototype dryer reached 76% to 77.8%. 謝欽城 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 99 zh-TW
