Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 土木工程系碩士班 === 91 === ABSTRACT The Degradation Behavior of Geotextiles in Ocean Environment The objective of this study is to investigate the degradation behavior of two types of geotextiles in Ocean Environment. The test program included an outdoor UV exposure program according to ASTM D5970 test standard, an exposure test program to place the samples in tidal zone, and an immersion program by placing the samples in seawater. A Polypropylene and a Polyester geotextiles were used in the study. The test program was started on June 18, 2002, and the program will last for 24 months. The first six months retrieved samples were sent back the laboratory for testing. The degradation properties of the geotextiles were evaluated by using strip tensile, grab tensile, and puncture tests. The results obtained from the first 6 months study indicated that Ultraviolet has significant impact on geotextile strength properties. The reduction factors range from 2.0 to 4.2 and 1.5 to 1.7 for the test PET and PP geotextiles, respectively. Seawater has very minimum effect on the strength of the test geotextiles for the first six months.
