Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 91 === The purpose of this research is to explore the pattern of love relationship and to understand the love development stages and love attitudes among Teachers College students in Taiwan.
Three couples were selected to be the participants from a specific Teachers College and all are qualified with these criteria as below:
1、Being undergraduate students.
2、Being in a steady love relationship for more than one year.
3、Being willing to share with their experiences on love-affair.
Those methods of qualitative research such as the interview, observation, and analysis of text from documents were utilized to collect, analyze, and explain the related information for best understanding of the participants’ emotional experiences while in love.
The findings of this research are described below:
1、The love styles of the participants belong to the Romantic love and the Companionate love.
2、Three couples all met each other in the student associations, and the attraction of personal characteristics by each other helps to begin a love relationship.
3、Generally speaking, the way of the participants expressing their love tends to be conservative, that is they would try to gain one’s love by means of doing everything in silence rather than directly saying I love you in word.
4、The participants are definitive to know how they feel toward the romantic partners and brave to end a bad relationship at the right time.
5、Showing on usual love behaviors and treatment, the boy participants more intend to take care of their romantic partners, while the girl participants, on the other hand, are used to under the care of their romantic partners.
6、Some thoughts in difference and the interferences from outsiders are the main points to cause a fight between the couple, but after the complete communication and well self-adjustment, the fight will be ceased soon.
7、The proper love behaviors and treatment pattern toward the romantic partner are the key points to a satisfied love relationship.
8、The positive understandings derived from families and classmates will help the development of a love relationship, while with the progress of the love relationship, the participation of activities in the student associations or with classmates could be reduced.
9、The participants show their sexual attitudes of responsibility and well self-controlled.
10、The participants’mating preferences are as common as popular, and in this research, it is also proved that a steady love relationship will be helpful on school studies.
Finally, some suggestions based on the findings are provided as the references for college students, their parents, college faculties, and those researchers interested in this topic.
