The method for research was a quasi-experimental method including pretesting and posttesting of an experimental group and a control group from Pingtung''''''''s Chung Hsiao Elementary School. The control group of ninety-seven students from three classes participated using the normal curriculum. The experimental group of ninety-nine students from three classes participated using an integrated Life Education curriculum consisting of four main topics, thirty-three chapters and lasting over forty-six class periods. The grade school pupils’ Life Attitude evaluation scale was used to measure the outcome. The outcome was analyzed by ANCOVA, a one-way Analysis of Covariance. To evaluate understand the effectiveness of the Life Education curriculum qualitative analysis of student and parent questionnaires and feedback sheets,records of student behavioral and verbal conduct and the research group meeting records were used . Conclusions from the outcome of the study are as follows: 1. After having participated in the integrated Life Education curriculum, Grade 3 students’ life attitude rose entirely in a positive direction. And an immediate effect was shown in the aspect of “caring and gratefulness”. 2. In general, the experimental curriculum, allows students to progress positively towards having a better understanding of their knowledge of, feelings towards,and positive actions toward “the meaning of life”, “people and themselves” and “people and others”. The curriculum was willingly accepted by the students, and also increases the students’recognition of belonging to their class group. 3. It was found that the integrated Life Education experiment enriched the teaching contents and also helped the students experience as a whole “Life Education”. The teachers and students have grown together through the experimental curriculum. According to the experiment’s results, concrete suggestions for the design of and practical use age of the integrated Life Education curriculum are as follows. 1. Life Education should continue to be developed. The designing of curriculum should be more flexible with emphasis on experiencing, thinking and accomplishing. In addition, the childrens’ experiences and things that could make them feel touched should be used as guidelines in the designing of the curriculum. 2. Those teachers having the same common interests in the area of Life Education should experience and learn together. Teachers should assist parents in understanding the importance of Life Education at any time . 3. It is suggested that this experimental curriculum be carried out over a Lastly, it could be suggested constructively for use in schools and for future analysis.
