Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東師範學院 === 心理輔導教育研究所 === 91 === Family Structure, Parent-Child Interaction, and Attachment Style among Elementary School Children Abstract Parents are the most significant others during the early stage of childhood. Children’s interaction with their parents influenced the emotional security of children significantly. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of parent-child interactions on the children’s attachment style with both their parents and peers. The effect of single-parent family was also investigated. Questionnaire methods were employed in this study. The valid samples consisted of 647 students sampled from the 5th and 6th grade of 6 elementary schools in Kaohsiung city. The measured items included family background, interactions with parents, and children’s attachment style with their parents and peers. The data were then subjected to regression and discriminant analysis. The results showed that children with closer and more frequent interactions with parents and felt less authoritarian discipline were more likely to develop secure attachment with their parents. Children with anxious attachment either with their father or their mother were more likely to develop anxious attachment style with their peers. Children who had less secure attachment with their father and higher degree of anxious attachment were more likely to form avoidant attachment with their peers. In other words, negative father’s and mother’s attachment led to the negative peer’s attachment style of their children as well.
