Transcripts of the interviews were used to understand their identity stories. The researcher used “holistic-content” and “category-content” which were two approaches of narrative analysis to analyze the stories. Four aspects of the gay identity process were thoroughly discussed in the study: 1.)Background, including the family structure and atmosphere and relationships with parents, siblings, and peers; 2.)Sexual orientation awareness, including gender awareness and the attitude toward the sexual orientation; 3.)The experience of coming out; 4.)Hopes for the future. In addition, a few suggestions based on the findings of the study were provided for those who intend to investigate similar topics as well as counselors and educators. 卓紋君 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 155 zh-TW
