)to explore the relationship among the attitude toward adult education , self concept and decision-making style of educational expense ; 4) and to provide suggestions as a reference for marketing members of adult learning and adult educational institutions .
To achieve the purpose , a questionnaire was developed to survey on 800 elementary parents in Kaohsiung city , 618 effective samples that were actually acquired.. The measuring instrument consisted of 3 parts : ” The attitude toward adult education scale “ , “ Self concept scale “ and “ Consumer style inventory of adult learning “ . The data of questionnaires had been processed for statistical under the “ SPSS “ statistics packaging software 8.0 for windows. The obtained data was analyzed by item analysis , factors analysis , mean, standard deviation , percentage , product- moment collection , t-test , one way and two way ANOVA .
This study has come up with the following conclusions :
1. The attitude toward adult education and the self-concept of elementary parents were positive and there were middle correlation between them.
2. The attitude toward adult education and the self-concept had no interaction to the decision-making style of education expense.
3. When the diversities chosen the products of adult education, the quality was most important and then were the self opinions and convenience.
4. The adult with high SES looked the quality of adult education most important and they were not impulsive and negative consumers.
5. Male and high-income diversities believed that price was quaranty.
6. people who spend at least 3 hours and 6﹪family current expense on adult education had higher self-concept than others.
Based on the results of this study, to provides suggestions as a reference :
Suggestions for adult education program planners :1) use the person variables as the standard of market segmentation.2) look important the learner’s self-concept and the attitude toward adult education on the influence of the decision-making style of education expense.3) know that the quality of curriculum is the most important.
2.suggestions for future studiers:1) use other groups for example singles.2) use other variables for example values or family life cycle.
