| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 電腦與通訊工程所 === 91 === The rapid advances of the Internet technology lead to the coming of the age of knowledge economy and the changing of the life style of people. To make sure of providing high quality of service for an Internet Service provider, three important factors namely, efficiency, automation, and rapid responding, must be included in the network management system.
In this thesis, we propose a systematic method to implement a web-based network management system with intelligent software agents to achieve the goal of maintaining high Internet quality of service. On the utilization of the SNMP network management technique and a set of management tools, the proposed rule-based intelligent software agents can automatically perform rule-based fault diagnosis and find out the causes of faults for the purpose of activating the process of fault clearance. The system will immediately send the fault messages to the network manager when the proposed agents respond to a fault detection request invoked by a client and locate the malfunctioning devices.
According to the implementation of the system and experimental results, the proposed intelligent software agents presented in this thesis can supply highly reliable and non-stop Internet services to customers.
