碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 風險管理與保險所 === 91 === ABSTRACT Questionaire survey and stastical analysis are conducted in this study in order to detect the awareness and strategy of business risk management in the high-tech sector of biotechnology industry in Taiwan. Several key issues are identified in this study through descriptive statistics, element analysis and variance aanalysis. This study indicates that the awareness of business risk management for Taiwan biotech-sector changes with (1) company core technologies and spectrum, (2) industrial history and experience of a company, and (3) education backgrounds of company executives. In terms of strategy of business risk management for biotechnology industry in Taiwan, (1) 72.3% of executives involved in this survey agree on the necessity for a specific risk management unit in a cooperate, (2) 87.2% of biotech companies involved in this survey acknowledge the importance to establish company policy, protocls or operational manuals for risk management, (3) the majority of executives involved in this survey also recognize that business risks should be reduced by way of internal controls, and diverted by way of suitable insurance policy for biotechnology industry.
