碩士 === 南華大學 === 生死學研究所 === 91 === 　　The purpose of this study is to discuss the factors of the eldly enter institutionalized setting.In this study,We use both qualitative and quantitative research to survey three hundred thirty-eight eldly residents of Changwa Nursing Home in sampling purposely.We select ten eldly samples whose conscious with talking clearly, and ten who usually visit eldly’s families. They agree to accept in-depth interviews.We obtained twenty in-depth interview data. 　 　　They are relative eight eldly between and families are of them.The malor findings are the following: 　 1. The main motivation of the eldly enter institutionalized setting are:couldn’t self-care,health,no one can take care at home,not want to families become tired,economy factor… 　 2. The main motivation of the families to let eldly enter institutionalized setting are:no one could care,no ability to care,social isolation… 　 3. The motivation differences between the eldly and the families are: (1). the eldly:ego-center standing. (2). the families:care both eldly and care givers’ body,mental demands.
