碩士 === 國立花蓮師範學院 === 生態與環境教育研究所 === 92 === NGO plays an important role between the government and the common people. It provides the function of communication, negotiation and integration. Wild Bird Society which pushes the environmental education in the whole country is one of the representative organization of the natural conservation parties. The research is taking the example of “ Birds loving year activity” by Wild Bird Society of Hualien to say how NGO participates the school environmental education. The research analysises participant’s motive and reward, discusses the whole problems of the activity, probes into the advantage and disadvantage, and integrates the best strategy of joining the school environmental education. Interview is the key research implement. There are 34 interviewees including 4 instructors, 13 teachers, 14 students and 3 parents. Literature review and participant observation are the second research implement. The results display: The activity fires up the participant’s conscious of environmental education. The motives of joining the activity are mostly because of the clear and interesting theme of the activity, the elasticity of joining, and enriching the life. After the activity, most participants broaden their mind and open a new world for themselves. They change the attitude to the nature environment, even more, cultivate a new hobby of loving the nature. A successful activity depends on diverse announcement. The research suggests passing activity information by different ways. Besides, preview meeting and review meeting which advanced all the participants are also important for the result of this research. By the way of joining the activity, the participants contact the nature, care the environment around them, and reach the goal of popularizing the environmental education.
