Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 91 === The research focuses on investigating the process of STS seminar teaching in natural science at aboriginal primary schools in remote areas, and the influences on teachers’ expertise and students’ learning ability. By choosing local 4th, 5th, 6th graders as subjects, the researcher team up with two teachers and try to figure out the STS seminar teaching mode at these schools. Thus, some advise is provided according to the study. The researchers built up an image of STS gradually through the process of grouping, subject selecting, proposal instruction, results sharing and multiple evaluation. Meanwhile, the students have acquired the ability of active learning with more fun. Their deficiency in language, information and natural science has improved as well. The researchers also found that a comprehensive teacher team, reduction of unnecessary teachers’ transfer and keeping experienced teachers in STS are crucial for education in natural science at these schools. From the experiences and results obtained, both indigenous culture and real life shall be thoughtfully considered while designing the curriculum. In addition, multiple evaluation methods for different students and combination of school/community resources are recommended. Therefore, not only can the students learn and absorb more information on their motherlands and languages, but also can these schools develop their own originality.
