The purpose of this study is to use the multimedia technology to development Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) software and to investigate the variety of the learning process in the frustration tolerance.
Instructional System Design theory was applied in the development of software of this research. It includes analysis, design, development, and evaluation. The research and development of software of this study is on the basis of multimedia - editing software“Flash”,which is applied as pedagogical software due to the following characteristics: integrated, interactive, and humanistic manipulation interface.
In order to evaluate the material, the study used the equal-group experimental design, and the target population of this study was defined as the grade-five students of Fong-Li elementary school in Hualien. These students were further randomly assigned to experimental group and control group. Experimental group received the training twice a week, each lasted 60 minutes, and totally ten raising frustration tolerance training program were completed. As for control group, they did not get any training, but enjoy the animation of “The Journey to the West” at the same time. The Scale of Frustration Tolerance was used in this study.
The results of this study show as follow:
(1)Analyzing the data by ANCOVA, the experimental group was the same as the control one in frustration tolerance.
(2)Analyzing the data by t-test, the experimental group was the same in pretest and posttest.
Finally, based on the results, the implication of the development of software of raising frustration tolerance were discussed and suggested for teachers, educators, and further researchers.
