The primary purpose of the study is to design suitable learning frustration tolerance cases for the teens. These cases are adapted from long-short stories in Taiwan (1996~2002). Using the case method in order to promote students’ learning frustration tolerance.
The materials of these six chosen young adult fictions in the study are based on campus and family lives about students’ frustration and barrier on learning. By reading , picking over the fragments of the six writings, then arranged the key points in cases and transposed them to reorganize new teaching cases. At the same time, researcher also planed topic issue and teaching guide. According to the conclusions and suggestions of practical test in class by two junior high school teachers, the researcher finished a teaching case about promoting frustration tolerance.
In order to understand the learning efficiency through case method, researcher analyzed questionnaire survey about『Frustration Tolerance Scale』and 『Personal Intelligence Scale』from learning list answered by students after class. The main findings of this study were as followed: It’s not resulted in significant effect on 『Frustration Tolerance Scale』,and is significant on『Personal Intelligence Scale』.
By the outcome and discuss, this study may provide some help to later researches on young adult fictions, case method in the future.
