Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 公共行政研究所 === 91 === A study on university employees’ job satisfaction in eastern three counties Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the university employees’ job satisfaction in Hua-lien、I-Lan and Tai-tung Counties. Questionnaire is applied in this research, which is developed by the researcher. Employees’ personal background was defined as independent variables that included employees’ institution, title, gender, age, marriage status, education, years of working experience, and working department. Dependent variables include job itself, working environment, supervisor’s leadership style, human relationship, promotion, salary and benefit, and social status. Totally there are 621 samples in the study, and the useful samples are 411. SPSS for Window is used to analyze the descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. If there is any significant difference among variables, Turkey method is applied. The results of this study are listed as follows. 1.Employments’ job satisfaction is relatively high between public and private universities and colleges. 2.Employees have higher job satisfaction regarding to human relationship, working environment, social status, supervisor’s leadership style, and job itself. On the other hand, employees have lowest job satisfaction regarding to promotion, salary & benefit. 3.There is significant difference among employees’ institution, title, age, marriage status, education, years of working experience, and working department toward job satisfaction, while there is no significant difference in gender toward job satisfaction. Two suggestions are made by this research as follow. 1.The sample size has to be enlarged to include more employees to participate in the study. 2.It is suggested that the future study focuses more on the viewpoints of employees from university presidents, administrators, and faculties. 3.Interview technique has suggested to be used in the future studies.
