Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 91 === The purpose of this study was to develop a story-based Chinese literacy program as a way to solve some problems in the language and literacy learning by conducting a one-year action research in an intermediate grade class of a remote elementary school in Taiwan. This study addressed the following four research questions: a)How can a story-based Chinese literacy program be developed in an intermediate grade classroom? b)What are the obstacles and restrictions for developing a story-based Chinese literacy program and what strategies can be applied in dealing with the situations? c)How may the teacher change in the process of implementing the story-based Chinese literacy program? d)what are the effects of the action research project on students’literacy learning? The procedures and results of this study were aggregated and presented in the order of preparing period, developing period, and evaluation period. The results of the pilot study indicated that using concept webs to develop a new curriculum and modifying the sequence of units in the textbooks and evaluation methods would allow more room for introducing stories into the literacy classroom. Finally, implications are presented for administrators, teachers and librarians.
