Results were summarized as follows: 1.According to the analysis of agronomic characters of 72 two-rowed barley varieties (lines), the CV of growing period and 100-kernel weight was smaller, but that of spike weight and plant weight was larger. 2.The days to heading was negatively and significantly associated with spike length, spike weight, no. of grains per spike, weight of grain per spike, and percentage of seed-setting. It is indicated that the longer the days to heading, the worse the seed-setting. 3.Based on the factor analysis, most of genetic variations among genotypes were found to be attributed to five factors, which accounted for the correlations among agronomic characters. 4.The cluster analysis of Ward’s minimum variance method based on 14 agronomic characters was conducted. When the intercept of semi-partial R2 was greater than 0.1, 72 two-rowed barley accessions were divided into three groups. Ethiopia 464 was shown to be the most distant accessions from the others. 5.In the RAPD analysis ten out of 100 Operon random primers were selected (10%). Amplification with selected 10 random primers generated 68 bands, of which 58 bands were polymorphic (85%). Dendrogram generated by UPGMA cluster analysis based on the Jaccard’s similarity coefficient. When the intercept of genetic similarity was 0.70, 72 two-rowed barley accessions were divided into nine groups. The largest group was found with those varieties (lines) developed in Taiwan. Chili Cheuallier chui-tian Self (A) was shown to be the most distant varieties (lines) from the others. 6.Comparison of both dendrograms revealed that the divided groups were different between the clustering obtained with agronomic characters and RAPD. But near varieties (lines) were clustered into same group. Chii-Dong Liu 劉啟東 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 69 zh-TW
