It is important for a school to attain competitive advantages and to make progress in administrative performance. Therefore, the organization of the school should work to transform the acquired knowledge into a new one through knowledge management and a share of knowledge among the members of the organization. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the present application of knowledge management in general affairs offices of junior high schools: 1. By demonstrating the present application of knowledge management in general affairs offices of junior high schools, I offer references to schools and to educational institutions. 2. I clarify the ideas of knowledge management through an inspection of documents. 3. I compare the differences between the recognition of knowledge management activity and its application by examining the changes of its background. 4. I inspect the ability of the staff members in general affairs offices of junior high schools to predict the association of the recognition of knowledge management activity and the application of knowledge management. The research methods of this study are an analysis of documents, questionnaires, and interviews. The questionnaire sample consists of 246 staff members of general affairs offices at junior high schools in Chunghua County with 228 feedback data, the percentage being 93% and with 226 valid feedback data. The instrument of this study is " Questionnaire on the Application of Knowledge Management in General Affairs Offices of Junior High Schools." The data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearsons product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regression. The results of the study reveal: 1. The staff members of general affairs offices in junior high schools have the ability to percept and to apply knowledge management . 2. There is higher recognition of knowledge management activity among the staff members in terms of a higher education background,a higher position, and a longer history of the school. 3. They also have higher ability to apply knowledge management among the members in terms of a higher education background,a higher position, and a longer history of the school. 4. The higher recognition the staff members have, the more ability they have when applying knowledge management. 5. Among the prediction functions of knowledge management activity to knowledge management application, knowledge accumulation and knowledge acquisition have the most ability to predict the application of knowledge management. The study offers a reference to promote the efficiency of schools, educational administration institutions, and administration members.
