As independent variables, the different types of individual gender role were applied to exam relationship accommodation of the individual him/herself to their lover in an intimate relationship. Stratified Random Sampling was performed, and 979 subjects were recruited in participating the research. According to the scores that were obtained from the “The Perception of Parents’ Marital Relation”, “Gender Role Measurement” and “Intimate Relationship Accommodation Scale”, the researcher carried out statistical analyses, and results as followed. 1.There was a positively association between the scores of parents’ marital relationship and their child’s gender role types. Moreover, the expressive characteristics of males were positively associated with intimacy, harmony, and total score of his perceptions regarding parents’ marital relationship. Also, the score of instrumental characteristics of males were positively associated with marital intimacy and total score of his perceptions regarding parents’ marital relationship. In the aspect of female, no significant relationship was found between her gender role characteristics and total scores of her parents’ marital relationship, intimacy and harmony. 2. There was no significant interaction effect between sex and different types of gender role in perception of their parents’ marital relationship. Additionally, the types of gender role were found no main effect. However, the variable of sex had shown a significant difference in parents’ marital relationship and harmony, and the male is higher than the female. 3. No evidence showed that there was significant interaction effect between sex and different types of gender role in perception of their satisfaction in a partnership; however, a main significant effect was found in sex differences and different types of gender role. Participants with androgynous gender type had the highest score in relationship accommodation, but undifferentiated had the lowest scores. In addition, Significant differences were found of sex on relationship conflict, in which the male scores were higher than female. 4. No significant difference was found in the scores of different types of gender role pair of university student couples and relationship accommodation. In another words, there was no significant mean score difference on satisfaction to intimate relationship regarding to different types of gender role pair of university student couples. 5. Comparing, the androgynous couple pair and traditional couple pair showed no significant difference in relationship accommodation, that is, no significant mean difference was found in androgynous type and traditional type of the gender roles regarding to the satisfaction to intimate relationship.
