The direct and efficient way to understand self-health conditions is to do health examination periodically. While the government pushes the health-examination policy, many health care centers provide corresponding health services for people. Since the tested results are represented as numbers, people always use the related results and the predefined normal range respectively to identify their healthy conditions, they mightn’t pay more attention to the hidden meanings of these tested items. Therefore, this paper applies the data mining techniques, using the XpertRule Miner, to mine out the critical test items for diseases appraisement and the association rules between items for specific chronic diseases prediction. Furthermore, this paper employs these rules to design a medical system for diseases prediction and case-based reasoning ─ a Predictive & Reasoning treatment system for the Chronic Diseases. It not only can predict the probability of suffering from the chronic diseases for a new case but also can provide doctors with previous cases’ experiences. This study adopts the prototyping method to verify the feasibility of this study.
