However, many conflict results have obtained due to many parameters listed in the specifications are not clearly defined. Study of related specifications in the world, the test methods with the same philosophy contain different parameters and different accept level for non-reactive aggregate. The purposes of this research are to clearly establish a test method and accept level for identification of reactive aggregate in Taiwan. ASTM C1293, the concrete prism expansion test, will be the basis of this research. Different methods including ASTM C227, ASTM C1260, and improving methods are to be test. Tests including C289, C227, autoclave method, and petrographic examination of aggregates are used to compare the results of C1293 for defining the accept level for non-reactive aggregate.
