Old English differentiated four seasons by observing the relative relation between sun and the stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. Old Egyptian named the rise of Sirius as “the beginning of a year”, and predicted the overflow of Nile depending on the solar calendar formulated according to the solar cycle. Tribes in Borneo recognized alternations of four seasons by noting the height of sun. And the vary important part of human civilization is to seek for imprints about time and life, to discover the form in which time exists as well. However, compared to the cosmos popped up from the big bang in one thousand and four hundred million years ago, the being of human is relatively an extremely insignificant blink. Therefore, fears toward death are sprouted within the mankind’s inner world confronting with the eternal time. This is what Heidegger called “Angst”. Angst is the growing feeling of dread and anxiety when people face to death in unconscious circumstances. Nevertheless, are there any more positive attitudes against “Angst” except to conceal it? The aim of this study is to introspect about the attitudes toward time and death during the whole process at thinking and creating. However, the idea of “death” is too drastic and abstract, therefore, I will transform to depict death in the form of “waiting”. On the other hand, the process of waiting for death is the most painful experience a man may confront with, therefore, I will express the unendurable ultimacy of waiting by the way of decipting death. Here, waiting and death both inter-represent.During the process to interpret and recognize the mentiond above by means of the form of art, it comes to me that the fear of death results from that the outward is going to perish and the spirit is fade away gradually, which can’t possess any proof of ever being. Even though, a whole new life will start if one can change the viewpoints about life, entomb concepts of fear and strip off emotion of pain. It’s the enlightenment of gaining regeneration. 張恬君 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 81 zh-TW
