Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 應用藝術所 === 91 === Pen-based system have been developed for many years. People always thinking about how to interact with computer by a more natural way, just like people use pen and paper to note. The technology today can help us to reach the goal. Because of the precision improvement of gesture recognition, system can act like a genius now. Successful product design of Palm, a lot of people know how to use PDA to be a paper replacment. But even though, there are still many interaction skill is being hidden, like pen gesture command. Our research want to find out if the software command property is relating to the pen gesture command. By the way, we also assume that people will act different when they trying to finish a job by pen gesture without icons.
After a experiment with three testers, we develop a new analysis coding system expanded from DaDAMMo Model, which is a analysis code to explain the strategy of people using CAD software, and get some conclusion:
1.User used to change the drawing procedure to reduce the transfer between command, so they will draw the well define object first, which means user can just change one time to the tool and act many times to finish the job.
2.The strategy of using aggressive and manipulation command is fewer than people work in icon environment.
And we suggest some improvement when design for pen gesture command system:
1.Enhance the command respond message to prevent error or confuse.
2.Design gesture command by grouping Let user easy to remember the command and can retry it instead of recall from shorten memory.
