Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 中國語文學系 === 91 === The thesis is according to Prémare’s works to study the approach and aim of Jesuit figurist’s Chinese classics interpretation.
The dissertation construct with five chapters: Chapter I is introduction for the thesis’s formation, relative studies, and my attention and writing structure. Chapter II attempt to explain the meaning of “figurism” and to describe Prémare’s Chinese mission and his academic movement. Chapter III analyses Prémare’s Chuen-Chyu-Luen (Study on Chuen-Chyu) to infer the Confucian classic Chuen-Chyu has been “Biblization” to equate with the Bible from Prémare’s figurisim. Chapter IV catches the point of the “Catholicize Confucianism” from the Ru-Jiao-Shi-I (The true meaning of Confucianism). Chapter V concludes that the figuristical interpretation is an important and the major approach for Prémare to reconcile Confucianism with Christian religion. Prémare want to finish the mission in Chinese by making the Confucian classics “Biblization” to be the Holy Scripture of the “Catholicize Confucianism”, and the Confucian classics and society will be an indeed Catholic world.
According this dissertation could understand that the dialogue of classics -e.g. The Bible vs. the Four Books and the Five Classics- is a very important movement between the culture exchange. Especially, the classics implication digger -interpreter- takes the key character. As these inferences, I think that whether the interpreter or be-interpreter, both of them should supply a wide “be-interpreted space” to form a dialogue atmosphere of “be interpreter and be-interpreter each other” for the thoroughly interpretation and understanding.
