The traveling of the electric field will lead to the rotation of the liquid crystal molecules, and the effective refractive index in the in-plane switching liquid crystal grating also has the traveling effect. The traveling of the effective refractive index can simulate the movement of the phase grating and it can improve several problems in the optical measuring system. In the previous optical measuring system, we use the PZT stage to drive the phase grating, but the PZT stage has the 『thermal drift』 problem and that will lead to the unstable of the measured signals. In our experiment, we use the Micro-Electro-Mechanical fabrication techniques to fabricate the IPS liquid crystal grating and this device can diffractive the incident light. In the analysis part, we use the Lcd Master to simulate the motion of the liquid crystal molecules in the IPS liquid crystal grating. The Lcd Master can also simulate the effect of the traveling electric field in the IPS liquid crystal grating.
