By using this system the location and shape of surface crack can be. This system use Visual Basic language to combine ultrasonic flaw detector with XY scanning table. The developed program has three main functions. One is acoustic wave data transmission. Another is automatic scanning procedure. The last computes acoustic wave data and obtains measurement result. Experimental result show that the ultrasonic automatic system can execute automatic work and has more better measurement result form A-Scan obtains wave data. However, some effort is needed to improve its performance. This thesis provides a new method to measure the opening loading of fatigue crack That using ultrasonic testing detects echo of crack tip is similar result to general method for use strain gage.
