With using software to simulate complete impact process, than compare the experimental result and simulation result. In this thesis, the steel plate and composite is applicable to the automotive industry .We do a series of low-velocity impact experiment by utilizing the Drop-Weight Tower Tester and the data acquisition system, we can get the impact force and absorbed energy histories in different velocity and different impact energy. We can understand the condition damage and energy absorbed of the specimen by the experimental histories curve, to be the basis of the choice of the materials and the assessment of the ability of impact resistance. Finally, we use LS-DYNA3D finite element analysis software to simulate the condition of actual impact,then we compare the experimental data and simulate result, there is a good resultant for low-velocity impact testing of steel plate.
