Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 化學工程學系碩博士班 === 91 === Sulfonated polydiphenylamine using electrochemical/chemical synthesis is studied in this dissertation. Emphasis is placed on the effect of the introduction of sulfonic acid group on the polydiphenylamine chains, properties of the resulting polymer . Electrochemical copolymerization of diphenylamine (DPA) with 2,5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid (DABSA) was carried out in aqueous 4 M H2SO4 by employing cyclic voltammetry. Copolymer films were grown for different molar concentration ratios of DPA or DABSA. Electrochemical homopolymerization of DPA alone was also carried out under similar conditions. UV-Visible spectroelectrochemical studies were performed to add evidence for copolymer formation when electropolymerization was performed with DPA and DABSA. A growth equation for the deposition of copolymer film was deduced as QG = k [DPA]1.02 [DABSA]-0.69 Cn1.2 where Cn is the number of cycles in cyclic voltammetry by utilizing the charge associated for film deposition. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used to find the elemental composition of copolymer and changes in redox characteristics of the copolymer in comparison with PDPA. Chemical synthesis of sulfonated polydiphenylamine prepared via sulfonation of emeraldine (EB) and leucomeraldine base (LEB) oxidation state of polydiphenylamine. Sulfonation level (S/N ratio) has been studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). LEB-SPDPA has a higher S/N ratio of 140% than EB-SPDPA, S/N~16.4%. UV-vis and TGA results for LEB-SPDPA and EB-SPDPA are shown to be a consequence of the much higher S/N ratio in LEB-SPDPA.
