Realizing speedups on parallel systems is the most important motivation of using parallelism. Although the reams of numerical data generated is possible, but they are hard to interpret. Therefore, we desire to visually display the behavior of a program and its underlying concepts. In this thesis, we design a window-based interface of parallel-program evaluation (WIPE). It displays message-passing behavior of parallel system by animation and provides the labeling functions of major graphic components. It offers several kinds of graphical-editing functions for moving or selecting nodes. Furthermore, it uses several kinds of statistical graphs to describe the information of these performance evaluation. For example, the window class of “Ganttchart” guides users to have a better understanding about the situation of each node at arbitrary time. Estimating the performance of the evaluation leads users to the reference way of improving these systems.
