| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 昆蟲學系 === 91 === Three species in genus Phraortes Stål,1875 were recorded as distribution in Taiwan. Sixty-four specimens collected from Taiwan and its adjacent offshore islands, and 38 specimens loaned from different museum collections were studiedin the present paper.results show that a total of 8 species were identified. They were 1 new record, P. elongatus (Thunberg), 4 new species, P. acornus n. sp., P. jengtzeyangi n. sp., P. neoformosanus n. sp., and P. taiwanus n. sp., and 3 recorded species P. bicolor (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907), P. illepidus (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907) and P. formosanus Shiraki, 1935. According to the collecting data, the habitats of Phraortes are mainly in broadleaved forest, especially in the level of the bushes of understory and forest edge. The food plants of P. bicolor (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907) and P. illepidus (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907) included Morus australis Poir （Moraceae）, Villebrunea pedunculata Shiraki (Urticaceae), Debregeasia edulis Wedd. (Urticaceae)and Rhododendron spp.（Ericaceae）.
