Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系 === 91 === ABSTRACT In Taiwan, the climate is full of rain and typhoons during summer time; moreover, the rivers, due to the topography, are short, with rapid water. As a result, the dams are filled with fine sediment of which is difficult to be disposed. Therefore, environmental problems of civilian irrigations, power generation and water use have been caused these days. Taiwan contains abundant lightweight aggregate. The fine sediment that gathers in the reservoirs near the aggregate should be capable of producing lightweight aggregate. Some Internal scholars have investigated and proven that reservoir''s fine sediment has excellent sintered characteristic. They have already successfully produced fine sediment lightweight aggregate by using high temperature furnace. In addition, the concrete which is mixed with the lightweight aggregate can provide excellent engineering characteristic. This research, which use the reservoir,s fine sediment as the ingredients of lightweight aggregate and two section of rotary kiln which is designed by Yong Yuan Engineering Incorporated Company, has successfully sintered fine sediment lightweight aggregate with diameter of 11 mm and pellet density between 1000 kg/m3~1400 kg/m3. First of all, I did some experiments in order to obtain the physics and mechanics characteristics of the fine sediment lightweight aggregate. And then, by using the same mix proportion, I researched into the engineering characteristic which compared the compressive strength between fine sediment lightweight aggregate concrete and expanded shale lightweight aggregate concrete. According to the result of this research, the fine sediment lightweight aggregate has excellent physics and mechanics characteristics. The concrete which is mixed with the fine sediment lightweight aggregate also offers better compressive strength than the expanded shale lightweight aggregate concrete.
