碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系 === 91 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the behavior of self- consolidating concrete columns under concentric compression. A total of thirty-two column specimens were made in this study, sixteen were normal concrete columns and the rest were self-consolidating concrete columns. The column cross section was 300 ×300 mm square. The test parameters included the volumetric ratio and spacing of transverse reinforcement, yield strength of transverse reinforcement, amount of longitudinal steel, and concrete compressive strength. The following conclusions can be made from the test results. 1.The results show that the nominal axial load strengths predicted by ACI 318 code are applicable to self- consolidating concrete columns. 2.Self-consolidating columns show better ductility than normal concrete columns. 3.With the same value of transverse reinforcement, the columns can achieve the same ductility. 4.Self-consolidating concrete columns have better crack control over normal concrete columns. 5.The descending branch of concrete stress-strain curve can be well represented by the strain corresponding to 50% of the peak stress and the peak stress. 6.Analytical stress-strain models are proposed for normal concrete and self-consolidating concrete.
