Summary: | 碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 外交研究所 === 91 === The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has been built since 1950, this place was originally a part of Ottoman Empire, and the Hashemite royal family is descends from Prophet Mohammed. Jordan’s foreign policy was affected by the characteristic of her leadership, attitude from powerful states, and domestic problem. This thesis focuses on Jordan’s foreign policy, which is effect to the relationship between Israel and the Arab states, analyzing Jordan’s role in the Middle East peace process. There are totally 6 chapters, which are composed of 19 sections. I describe my ambition, goals, methods and limitation of this study before the main thesis. In the main thesis, I describe and analyze the changes of Jordan’s foreign policy during 1980s, the period during Gulf War, the peace process in 1990s, and the era after King Hussein died. In the last chapter, comments and suggestions are given together with the conclusion.
