Due to the objects of air traffic control system are to achieve safe, ordered, convenient, and comfortable aeronautic services, the present controllers are recruited constantly through special exam, and also various types of equipments specialized for air traffic control are updated without end, however, due to the particular nature for air traffic control, every operations are associated with safety for hundreds of lives, thus, the work stresses the controllers encounter are extremely high. The present research collects stress management related master’s thesis, and reference books, magazines, etc. from either domestically or abroad, and discusses and reviews documents, furthermore, employs the measures of quantified questionnaire, free interview, and observation, etc., to explore the degree of work stresses for the controllers. The object of study is the 231 controllers hired by the Air Navigation and Weather Services (ANWS), and after thorough discussion and analysis, the facts below are revealed, which will be described with the suggestions of my humble opinions, respectively; I. FACTS REVEALED 1.Air traffic control is with high specialty. 2.The work stresses for the controllers are extremely high. 3.The work stresses for the controllers are highly proportional to the climate factors and flight amounts. 4.Air traffic control can be divided into route control, approach control and tower control, and the work stresses are various among them. 5.Concern and support from the chief, coworkers, and families for the controllers are necessary. 6.Generally, the controllers are not satisfied with the administration system. 7.The human relationships between the controllers are not bad, however, there is still space for struggling. 8.Most of the controllers belong to Type A and external character, wherein those who belong to external character are apt to produce work stresses. 9.In the variation of the popular statistics, there is not any difference in work stresses for the controllers with different sexes. As for the age, the young feel higher stress than the old. As for the working period, the junior feel higher stress than the senior. As for the position, the rank 6 feel higher stress than the rank 3 to 5 and the rank 7. As for the marriage condition, the unmarried feel higher stress than the married. 10.The tendency toward leaving office for the controllers is not high and matches with the actual leaving rate for the last four years. 11.The performance for the controllers is fine and is not affected by the work stresses. 12.The controllers are with high stress resistance capability. II. HUMBLE OPINIONS SUGGESTED Base on the above-mentioned research, the writer suggests as below, which can be provided to the directors at different levels for reference: 1.Improving working environment: (a)Further coordinating with the military for appropriately opening air space to increase the turning space, thus the work stresses for the controllers can be reduced and the flight safety can be enhanced. (b)Further updating aeronautical equipment to increase the controllers’ confidence for the equipment. (c)Purchasing and installing exercise equipment or beneficial books in the standby rest room for the controllers who can use them to soothe the nervous emotion. 2.Collecting the special emergency dealing case for reference. 3.Regulating reasonable promotion rule to inspire the spirit. 4.Suggesting to rise the position for the controllers to rank 6 to 8. 5.Solving the problem for combining unusual public errands into the duty period. 6.Building justice advisory mechanism. 7.Establishing psychological counseling and assistance system. 8.Regulating lower limited retirement condition. 9.Suggesting the controllers to cultivate optimistic temper, exercise more, stabilize emotion, read profitable books, communicate and coordinate more, cultivate positive hobby and make more friends, etc. to release the stresses. 黃新福 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 261 zh-TW
