In corresponding to the influence of Internet and information technologies, industries must adopt appropriate e-business strategy, integrate the members of valuenet (customers, suppliers, complementary partners, and industries themselves) to reform themselves to an e-business industry and therefore, to be beneficial by increasing customer services and enhancing competitiveness. Most of studies in this field focus on discussing Capabilities and Values. However, in this thesis, based on compositions of enterprise management mode—Concept, Capabilities, and Values, proposed by Applegate(2001), the author tried to develop a clear structure and definitions to interpret its meanings. Two case studies have been done on two successful enterprises in Taiwan, TSMC and ACER, to analyze the relationship between industrial strategies and their e-business capabilities and infer the values created by implementing e-business. Three hypotheses were made during the case studies. Thesis 1: The more an e-business enterprise adjusts its coordination, the less its value network integration level; Thesis 2: The more efforts an enterprise puts on its industrial coordination and its competitiveness , the higher its value network integration level; Thesis 3: Once an enterprise integrates its valuenet by linking its e-business capabilities and values, the profits created comes from efficiency, quality, complements,lock-in ,and innovation. Through out the analysis, the author found that an enterprise’s industrial strategy and its e-business capabilities are highly related. Therefore, in order to create the most advantage, an enterprise must evaluate its e-business capability while determining its industrial strategy. In conclusion, the author hopes to provide a guide line to enterprises for them to determine their e-business strategy with more understanding of their industrial strategy and relationship between e-business capability and values, and accurately perform the e-business industrial management model.
