Description
Summary:碩士 === 立德管理學院 === 資源環境研究所 === 91 === Abstract The purpose of this study is to realize the environmental impacts caused by buildings using Life Cycle Assessment. This study takes Elementary School of Shei-Li in Nan To County as example and uses SimaPro software as LCA tool. The evaluated results by Eco-indicator show that raw material system causes the largest impact to environment. Southern Pine is the main building material of this wooden structure, which is considered as the main source of the impact. Since the LCA is applied mainly in production process to improve the raw materials, this study is to compare Southern Pine to other different species of wood. It demonstrates that the choice of different logs may indeed influence the environmental impacts. In order to take generality of the buildings into account; this study involved the Reinforced-concrete building and Steel building as well. In case of excluding recycle process, the study takes to compare with. After comparing Wood, RC and Steel three building as building’s basic materials. The result shows by Eco-indicator indicate that Southern Pine causes the largest impact due to its land-using factor. In order to improve the LCA on evaluating the buildings, this study brought three raw materials, process, transportation, electricity, manpower and protection into account in LCA. The different evaluation methods like CML 1992、CML 2 baseline 2000、Ecopoints 97 (CH)、EDIP/UMIP 96 and EPS 2000 are undertaken. Most results show that RC will cause larger environmental impacts; the major source of the impact is the solid waste. Thus, the ecological materials for buildings that will provide well recycling possibility can reduce the environmental impacts
