The study samples the initial diagnoses of emergent records of Nan-Men Hospital of Heng-Tsun in 2000.It explores the emergent medicine characteristics of demography、time interval、relationship between disease and population and traffic accident in Heng-Tsun Penisula;Ussing SPSS 8.0 for windows and Excel for statistic analysis. The study discloses (I)76.1% of emergency are natives,23.9% are tourists,the incidence is 83.97 per 1000 in natives,and 116.92 in tourists.(II)The most frequent time interval of emergency is from 4PM to 12MN,It comprises 38.36%.Another abnormal peaks are in the day time of July and August.(III)In monthly order are:February 9.94%,August 9.76%,July are 9.63%(IV)In order of frequency of diagnosis on arrival among 122 are :1.URI 17.97%,2.Head injury 11.8%,3.A.G.E 8.06%,4.Laceration 6.67%,5.Hypertension 3.91%,;the tourists are two times higher than the natives.(V) In order of department are:Surgical 32.9%,Respiratory system 19.22%,Digestive system 17.73%,Medical 17.61%,Neurological 5.96%,Orthopedical 2.78%,Circulatory system 1.93%;Tourists are 2 times higher than the natives except circulatory and neurological systems.(VI)In order of disease classification,”Else”is the most frequent and comprises 64.6%.Others are traffic accident 20.6%,Fall-down 5.3%,Food poisoning 3.5%,Drowning 0.2%,the incidence is slightly higher in natives in the category of “Else”,otherwise ,the tourists are 2 times higher than the natives;the 18 events of drowning are all tourists. (VII)Traffic accident in monthly order are:July 12.86%,May 10.64%,August 10.42%,April 10.13%;Motobike accident is the most frequent.It comprises 77.9%,especially for 15~24 age groups.Also,tourists are 2 times higher than the natives. The study can provide people the proper idea of health and improvement in seeking medical advice;remind tourists of prevention of traffic accidents and traveling safity;offer the medical institutions in Heng-Tsun about the allocation of emergent man-power and preparation of facilities,according to the categories of the disease,time interval of occurrence and characteristics,so as to provide better medical services and minimize the damage;provide the reference materials to the government and medical institutions for the health promotion and disease prevention according to the emergent diseases characteristics in Heng-Tsun Peninsula, Offer the bureau of health to draw up the medical policy in special tour district to ensure the medical service quality and unnecessary waste of medical resources. The limitations of the study are:1.Limited to the emergent material of the south of Heng-Tsun Peninsula, so it cannot infer to other areas.2.The causes of the motorbike accidents cannot be further explored, because detailed information can not be obtained.3.Due to the same reasons as above,health behavior investigation could not proceed.4.Due to definition difficulties,the Lo-San-Feng related syndrom could not be explored.
