The T85 40mm Launcher, although designed for use with grenades, contains both positive and negative points, both of which influence its effectiveness. The main purpose of this essay will be to analyze the machining factors that influence the 40mm Launcher’s compatibility concentricity under realistic field conditions using Taguchi quality engineering.
After consulting both the relevant national and international literature on the subject, the relevant factors are given below:
Factor A:
Machining the broach in the smoothbore rifle line. This can be divided into the 0.02 mm and an upgraded 0.04 mm sizes.
Factor B:
The broaching rate. This can be set at either 370 mm/6 sec. or 370 mm/ 8 sec.
Factor C:
Auxiliary launch suspension clamp. There are two types: a “covering abdomen” clamp and the “angled-down” clamp.
Factor D:
Fixed breech front-end compatible cutting bar. This can be divided according to the diameter of the cutting bar into 0.05 mm and 0.02 mm.
Factor E:
Fixed breech back-end compatible cutting bar. This as well can be divided by the diameter of the cutting bar into 0.1 mm and 0.03 mm.
Factor F:
Protective covering for the cutting bar. There are two types: 75 mm and 100 mm.
Factor G:
Models. Selection of material (The T651 and the T6).
Field-testing Taguchi quality engineering offers the best testing method for small quantities to yield the best production designs. It is therefore recommended that, economically, the research time be decreased to cut expenses. Insofar as the field-testing method is the foundation of our experiments on factors influencing the 40 mm Launcher, the results of the these factors can be collected to obtain optimal assembly.
