However, static drape seems insufficient to express the dangling state of humans moving or walking. Hence this study is aimed at discussing the relationships between static and dynamic drape coefficient and fabric property. This study is going to measure the static and dynamic drape of natural-fiber fabrics on the market for spring and summer, such as cotton, linen, silk and wool. To screen and set up the parameter, this study adopts Kawabata Evaluation System for Fabrics (KES-FB), widely used in textile Field, with 16 items of mechanical property set up in this system as the basis for selecting the parameter. The dynamic state of fabric drape is measured by a self-designed instrument. Then, with the coefficient of dynamic drape and the parameter of mechanical property obtaining from the measuring instrument, the translation equations can be constructed through stepwise regression method, and the evaluation of the confidence interval can be conducted likewise. With the hope of using a simple statistic method to evaluate the dynamic drape of fabrics, this study will establish a model of relationship between dynamic drape and mechanical property through figuring out the adequate parameter. Meanwhile, this study will analyze the differences of dynamic drape among cotton, linen, silk and wool, and make a trial to classify the coefficient of dynamic drape based on discriminate function. The consequence shows that the mechanical parameter selected will vary with the static and dynamic running speeds. Most importantly, the translation equations based on the dynamic drape of cotton, linen and wool have reached a significant level of correlation, and demonstrated that there is a similarity between cotton and linen. However, the translation equations based on silk have not reached a significant level of forecasting model. It is worthwhile to make a further study of this phenomenon. K. B.
