Resurveying results were shown that the co-seismic displacements at the left-side points of the fault were around 1 meter toward south-east direction and decreased gradually away from the fault. However, the more complicated situation was the displacements in the east of the fault toward north-west and up to 7.5 meters at Takung in Taichung. The coordinates of surveying points obtained before and after earthquake were compared and analyzed. It was shown that there was a trend of the change of both displacement and azimuth. Least-Squares estimation was used to establish linear functions of displacement in terms of distance from the fault. The model residual was consistent with the precision of cadastral survey for the 6 cm maximum error acceptable. This approach could be used to establish a digital terrain transformation model to update cadastral data and calculate the change of land area at disaster area in central Taiwan.
