Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 土木及水利工程所 === 91 === The flow past a circular cylinder is a classical fluid dynamic problem. There are two rows of vortex shedding alternatively behind the cylinder at Reynolds number between 40 and 400. These are Karman vortex street. Due to Karman vortex street, the drag and lift forces vibrate periodically which are important to engineering problem. This paper uses primitive-variable method to solve for pressure and velocity. After adding artificial disturbances, the constructed model successfully simulated the alternative shedding of the vortex. This paper also discusses the evolution of the flow field, such as vorticity, bubble, lift coefficient, drag coefficient, streamline, separation streamline and stagnation streamline.
