Due to its stable and anti-humid features, tile has become the most frequently used construction material in exterior wall decoration. Since tile has to be mixed with other material in order to use, the improper chosen material to be mixed with tile will cause the tiling failure despite the stable characteristics of tile. It is necessary to pre-emptive the public security problems caused by the come-off of tiles. The purpose of this research is to collect the information about tiling construction, ask the experts and scholars to help build up the tiling construction effectiveness indicators with analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and provide the importance priority of the indicators according to the weight assigned to them. This research found out that, among the three indicators “the influence of tile quality on effectiveness”, “the influence of pasting material and construction effectiveness” and “the influence of the underlying layer of the exterior wall and the construction effectiveness”, the “influence of pasting material and construction effectiveness” received the highest relative weighting. The sub-indicators such as “construction planning” and “the selection of tile pasting material” also received the top-ranking weight in their respective category. This reflects that the experts regard “the influence of pasting material and construction effectiveness” and “the influence of tile quality on effectiveness” the important indicators as well during the preparing stage of the overall planning of construction tile. After comparing the indicators built up in this research with the results done by previous related research, it is found out that the results are largely in consistence. “The influence of pasting material and construction effectiveness” has the highest weighting, followed by the “the influence of tile quality on effectiveness”. It is also found out that “the influence of the underlying layer of the exterior wall and the construction effectiveness” has significantly lower weighting. That is, currently the experts think “the influence of pasting material and construction material” is the construction effectiveness as the priority and has the stronger point of view on construction. From the perspective of enhancing the tiling construction effectiveness, although the underlying layer interface is an important factor, the experts think the pasting material has higher correlation with construction effectiveness. Since the enhancement of construction effectiveness relies on the various construction factors and the selection of pasting material, they put more emphasis on the special-purposed pasting material indicator.
