This cosustituted monomer was characterized by a combination of 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, EA and FT-IR spectroscopies. The V3M3-based composite polymer electrolyte films have been prepared from V3M3 with various amount of LiClO4 salt and α-Al2O3 and cured by UV radiation usi ng benzophenone (BPO) as photo initiator. Free-standing films with thickness of about 200 μm were obtained. The degree of UV curing and the cation-oxygen interaction of the cured polymer electrolytes were investigated by FTIR spectroscopy. It was found that lithium ions were solvated with the nitrogen atoms on the backbone and the oxygen atoms on the etheric side chains. The ionic conductivities of the cured materials were measured by A. C. impedance. The best conductivity of the as-prepared solid polymer electrolyte films at room temperature is 3.5×10-5 S/cm which is in the same order as the conductivity of MEEP/ LiClO4. The result of cyclic voltammetry measurement revealed that the V3M3-based composite polymer electrolyte films were electrochemically stable up to ca 4.2 V.
