Summary: | 碩士 === 中原大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 91 === The vapor pressures of salt/organic solvent/water systems were measured at temperatures from 30 to 70℃ by a static method. The salts studied are LiCl, LiBr and CaCl2. The mixed-solvents are Diethylene glycol (DEG)/H2O, tetra-ethylene (glycol) TeEG/H2O and di-propylene glycol (DPG)/H2O. The corresponding densities of the solutions were also measured.
The Antoine equation and Mean Spherical Approximation have been applied to correlate the measured data. In the Mean Spherical Approximation, the so-called “pseudo-solvent method” was applied to represent the mixed-solvent system. The parameters in Mean Spherical Approximation model were determined form the measured vapor pressure data. The densities of the solutions were also correlated by a simplified equation.
Liquid desiccants have the property of absorbing moisture form air. When the vapor pressure of the inlet liquid desiccant is lower than that of the air stream, dehumidification takes place. The vapor pressure of the desiccants solution is rare in the open literature. Actually, the experimental data of the mixed solvents are very few in the literature. The propose of measure vapor pressure of salt/organic solvent/water. The results of this study can be used as a data base for designing the dehumidification system using salt-mixed solvents system as desiccants.
